Michelin wins Auto Bild’s “slippery test” for sports cars

You have no place in everyday road traffic because of the reduced performance of your tyres in wet weather, conclude the testers for sports cars at the magazine Auto Bild, after they have taken aim at size 225/45 R18 and the Golf GTI.

Among the six racing tyres examined, which are approved for use on the road, the most convincing performance is shown by  the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup, and Dunlop’s Direzza 03G and the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo also put in a very good showing.

With ratings of “good” and “satisfactory”, the ContiForceContact and Kumho Ecsta V70A follow, in 4th and 5th place respectively. The Toyo Proxes R888, however, is “not recommended”. Auto Bild publishes an issue on sports cars with the test tomorrow, where you will also find detailed  results.
