Truck tyres

To a large extent, road safety when driving a truck depends on the quality of the tyres and on choosing them correctly. That is why we decided to write a separate article on what to bear in mind when making the right choice.

How to choose the right truck tyres

The main criterion is the quality of the roads the truck will travel on. For off-road conditions, models with adjustable pressure are preferable, as they allow passability even in particularly difficult road conditions. If you expect to travel on motorways and roads with a good surface, pneumatic tyres are a good solution. However, they have one problem: in the event of a puncture, the air escapes very quickly and a road accident is possible.

Basically, by their internal construction, truck tyres are divided into radial and diagonal. The differences lie in the number of rubber plies, with diagonal tyres being the softer and quieter of the two types. There are also tube-type and tubeless tyres; the former have an inner layer, but they are now almost never used. Tubeless tyres lack the inner layer and deflate more slowly after a puncture, allowing you to cover a few more kilometres to a specialist service centre.

What are the main search criteria

Depending on the season, there are also different types – winter and all-season. Winter tyres are characterised by a deeper tread pattern and harder rubber. Some drivers even use studded models for better traction and grip in conditions of heavy snowdrifts. All-season tyres, for their part, wear out faster, but this is offset by their lower price. They are intended for use in areas with a more moderate and milder climate.

It is important to remember that tyres of different sizes, construction and type cannot be fitted on the same axle. If the sidewall marking reads “Energy”, this means the tyres can reduce fuel consumption, etc. There are also various letter designations on the marking indicating the intended use. For example, A – for motorways, E – for intercity or urban conditions, N – for snow, etc.

What types will we find in this section

Our online shop offers models in various diameters, distinguished by maximum quality guaranteed by the manufacturer itself. At the same time, radial versions are mostly available, as they are widely used in Bulgaria thanks to their undeniable advantages. You will also find winter or summer versions with the respective tread pattern characteristics, and you can make your choice by speed index and load index too.
