Continental continued its support for the Hanover marathon in 2013 and will take part with more than 400 employees

19 April 2013

The international automotive supplier and tyre manufacturer Continental continues its commitment as a sponsor of the TUI Marathon in Hanover in 2013 as well. The Continental banner will be displayed prominently at  the event of the year in the capital and can be followed along the entire route.

“We are delighted for Continental and the enthusiasm among its employees. The Hanover marathon is an  addition to our regular worldwide participation in the Conti Days – Sprint in Hanover, where more than 7,000 people will be working. We will cover the start fees for all runners in the Continental teams, as we want our employees’ enthusiasm to flow even more freely,” said Elke Strathmann, Director of Human Resources. The Executive Board of the DAX-listed company will also be actively involved and take part in the marathon relay, together with Nikolaus Setzer (starting runner), Hans-Gerhard Wente (ContiTech), Elke Strathmann (Human Resources), and Chairman Dr Elmar Degenhart (final runner) will also be taking part.

During the marathon weekend, many other races will also take place in the immediate vicinity of the main race (running, roller skating and cycling) and over a 10 km stretch (smooth running, walking and Nordic walking). In 2012 Continental won the competition for the “most advanced company”, because 320 runners took part in this corporate ranking at the start, which was the majority of the staff. “This time we also want to defend our title in  2013,” says the mentor of the enthusiasts.
